Ann Ventura DONNA ANN VENTURA - Founder and Creative Director of SANAA STUDIOS LTD., a centre for developing and encouraging creativity in Ceramics, Art, Craft and Jewelry making. Her main goal is dedicated to artistic enrichment by developing the capabilities of aspiring artists through a series of workshops, which are conducted by professional and recognized artists. A graduate of Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology, Ontario, Canada, Ann pursued Graphic Design, majoring in Illustration. Her career commenced as an Art Teacher at Immaculate Conception Preparatory School where, under her stewardship the school won several inter-school Art competitions. Ann has been painting quietly for a number of years, developing her artistic skills. She enjoys the acrylic medium for its versatility, which was demonstrated in her highly successful first solo exhibition in 2004. An exhibitor in group shows since 1978, her works form part of several private collections and was among the artists featured in the Bank of Jamaica’s 40th Anniversary Edition “ The Garden Party”. Marisa Willoughby-Holland www.marisaartist.com Born in Jamaica in 1975, Marisa Willoughby-Holland studied art in London, graduating with a Masters degree from the Royal College of Art . During her time at the Royal College Marisa's work won several awards including 'The Folio Society Illustration Award' in 2001 and the 'Worshipful Company of Painters and Stainers Award' in both 2000 and 2001. She was also featured in 'Graphics International' magazine Issue 88.
Marisa's work has always been very personal and spiritual, often auto-biographical. She is inspired by the colourful art and culture of her home country and her past and present personal relationships. Marisa's work centers on themes of femininity, often drawing links between woman and nature. Recently, following her marriage and pregnancies, Marisa's work has been filled with themes of motherhood and fertility, death and new life. Flowers often symbolise fertility and small, fetal figures wrapped up in foliage or buried in the ground are symbolic of a mother's need to protect and nuture.
Marisa currently lives near London and works as an illustrator and painter in both Jamaica and the UK. She has exhibited internationally in locations as diverse as Miami Beach and the Vatican. Ainsley Martin Visit a gallery of Ainsley's work
Born in 1968 in St. Mary, Jamaica. He studied at the Edna Manley School of Art and was a Gold Medalist in the "Young Artist of the Year". Martin paints with mixed mediums on paper and acrylic on canvas, focusing on scenery and still life.
